MediaWipeTool For Reddit archives
Sign in

Deleted should mean deleted.

Deleting a post on Reddit does not remove it from the third-party archives that keep copies of it. MediaWipeTool asks those archives what they still hold under your account, prepares the removal requests for you to send, and checks again afterward so you can see what changed.

Free to use. We never ask for your Reddit password, and we never contact Reddit.

How it works

Four steps, and you stay in control of every one

  1. Prove the account is yours: you post a short sentence to your own Reddit profile and paste the link back, without us ever contacting Reddit. That is how we know you only ever look up an account you actually own.
  2. Scan the archives: we ask each archive what it still holds under your account and report every answer on its own terms, never as a single merged number, because each archive is a separate removal process.
  3. Prepare the filings: we write the removal request for each archive, with what was found already filled in, in the order that works. You send them yourself; this site never submits anything on your behalf.
  4. Verify what changed: come back after you have filed and scan again, which is the only honest way to see whether an archive acted on your request.
Privacy

Built to know as little about you as possible

We keep no record of what you scan. The Reddit account you look up is never written to our database (there is no column that could hold it), and your case lives in a signed file you download and keep, not on our server.
  • We never contact Reddit: not to check your account, not to read your history, not at all. The code refuses to make the request.
  • Signing in is the point, not friction. Because you can only scan an account you have proven is yours, the tool cannot be used to look anyone else up, and that is why there is a login at all.
  • Nothing else is watching: no analytics, no tracking pixel, no third-party script on any page. Your browser is told to refuse them.
What it reads

Independent archives, not Reddit

The counts come from Arctic Shift and PullPush, independent third-party archives that hold copies of Reddit content and are the reason this tool exists: deleting something on Reddit does not remove it from them. They are run by people unconnected to Reddit and to us, and they have not endorsed this tool.

MediaWipeTool prepares requests and tracks what changes. It does not remove anything itself, and it cannot promise an archive will act; a person at each archive decides that, and may decline.
