Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of MediaWipeTool at mediawipetool.com, and by creating an account or using the site, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the site.

What the service does

MediaWipeTool helps you find your own content in independent third-party Reddit archives and prepare requests to have it removed: it reports what those archives hold, prepares the filings for you to send, and lets you check again afterward. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Reddit, Inc.

It does not remove anything, and cannot promise removal

MediaWipeTool prepares requests and tracks what changes: it does not remove content itself, and it cannot guarantee that any archive will act. Each archive is run by a separate third party who decides whether to honour a request and may decline, and you send every request yourself; this site never submits anything on your behalf.

Not legal advice

Nothing on this site is legal advice: the filings we prepare are a convenience, not a legal instrument, and using them does not create any professional relationship. If you need legal advice, consult a qualified lawyer in your jurisdiction.

Who may use it, and how

You must be an adult and legally able to enter this agreement.
Only your own accounts: you may use MediaWipeTool only to act on a Reddit account you own or are clearly authorized to act for. The ownership step exists to enforce this, and using the site to look up or act against an account that is not yours is prohibited.
No Reddit personnel. If you are employed by or work as a contractor for Reddit.com, you cannot access this site.
No abuse. Do not attempt to break, overload, scrape, or probe the service, evade its limits, or use it for anything unlawful.
You are responsible for your credentials. Keep your password safe, and you are responsible for activity under your account.

Accounts and suspension

We may suspend or remove an account that breaks these terms, that we believe is being used against an account its holder does not own, or where required to protect the service or other people. Because there is no automated password recovery, an administrator handles account resets and removals.

Third-party services

The archives we query (Arctic Shift and PullPush), any payment provider you use to donate, and any external help resource we link to are operated by other people. We do not control them and are not responsible for them; their terms and their outcomes are their own.

Donations

MediaWipeTool is free to use, and donations are voluntary, buy no goods or services, and unlock nothing. They help cover the cost of running the server.

No warranty

The service is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We do not warrant that the counts shown are complete, that an archive will respond, or that any content will be removed.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, MediaWipeTool and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of the site, including any decision you make about your Reddit account. Deleting a Reddit account is irreversible and is your decision alone.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms, and when we do, we will change the date at the top. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Any dispute about these terms or the service that goes to court will be heard in the state or federal courts located in Wyoming, and you and we both agree to those courts.

If the law where you live gives you rights that cannot be taken away by agreement, such as consumer protections, those rights still apply to you.
